Assembling molecules in ATOMIX is hard
نویسندگان
چکیده
It is shown that assembling molecules in the ATOMIX game can be used to simulate 0nite automata. In particular, an instance of ATOMIX is constructed that has a solution if and only if the non-emptiness intersection problem for 0nite automata is solvable. This shows that the game under consideration is PSPACE-complete, improving a recent result of H5 u6ner et al. (Lecture Notes in Computer Science, Vol. 2174, Springer, Vienna, Austria, 2001, pp. 229–243). Moreover, the given reduction shows that there are ATOMIX games which have exponentially long optimal solutions. We also give an easy construction of ATOMIX game levels whose optimal solutions meet the worst case. c © 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

A Hard Convex Core Yukawa Equation of State for Nonassociated Chain Molecules
The compressibility factor of nonassociated chain molecules composed of hard convex core Yukawa segments was derived with SAFT-VR and an extension of the Barker-Henderson perturbation theory for convex bodies. The temperature-dependent chain and dispersion compressibility factors were derived using the Yukawa potential. The effects of temperature, packing fraction, and segment number on the com...
متن کاملGene assembling: a new approach in molecular diagnosis of hereditary breast cancer
Abstract Background: Many disease susceptibility genes are large and consist of many exons in which point mutations are scattered throughout. Scanning each exon individually represents a tedious task which can be time consuming and expensive. There has been increasing demand for rapid and accurate methods for full scanning of unknown point mutations in large multi-exon genes. Gene Assembling i...
متن کاملAtomix: A Framework for Deploying Signal Processing Applications on Wireless Infrastructure
Multi-processor DSPs have become the platform of choice for wireless infrastructure. This trend presents an opportunity to enable faster and wider scale deployment of signal processing applications at scale. However, achieving the hardware-like performance required by signal processing applications requires interacting with bare metal features on the DSP. This makes it challenging to build modu...
متن کاملMolecular dynamics simulation of a binary mixture lubricant for use in hard disk interfaces
In Hard Disk Drives (HDD), it is necessary to decrease the Flying Height (FH) between the head and the disk (currently, FH is around 3-5 nm) so as to increase recording densities. Retaining the solid lubricant has become a difficult proposition owing to intermittent contact between the surfaces. ZTMD and Z are used as solid lubricant to lubricate these interfaces. In this paper, the behavior of...
